- Study Finds People Search, Don't Surf Web Sites
MediaPost Publications - Study Finds People Search, Don't Surf Web Sites - 08/03/2005: "LEST THERE WAS ANY DOUBT that search engines have made inroads on surfing behavior, a study released Tuesday by BURST! Media should put it to rest. Just 16 percent of 13,000 surveyed Web users age 14 and older said they navigate the Web via links from other sites or ads. The majority of respondents, 56 percent, use search engines to get where they want to be online, while 28 percent either have their destinations' URLs bookmarked or type them in. -- Wendy Davis "
