The Tourism Society -- Home: "The purpose of the Tourism Society is:
'To provide a forum for professionals working in, studying or otherwise interested in tourism across all sectors worldwide.'
The Tourism Society is the only, professional body to link the mutual interests of individuals throughout the many sectors of tourism and its related fields, recognising that people will need increasingly to work in more than one sector during their career. The Membership includes individuals working in tourism at all management levels up to industry leaders both past and present as well as other tourism professionals in consultancy, academic and students.
Membership is around 1100 from the whole spectrum of tourism bodies: public and private sector companies at international, national and local levels, including visitor attractions, tour operators, hotels, catering establishments, colleges and universities, consultancies and carriers. Members are encouraged to make personal contributions to the Society by organising or speaking at meetings, writing articles and through the Society's work in general."
